Joe Platt

Builder Restorer Texas Native

Joe is a Texas native from Bridge City, where he grew up playing football, spending time outdoors and learning the value of hard work, resourcefulness and doing things right. A former high school quarterback, that same drive, hands-on mindset and problem-solving spirit still show up in everything he does.

Joe has always been drawn to wood, carpentry and anything with a good story. He builds furniture and custom pieces using reclaimed and salvaged materials from old barns, ranches, homes and other Texas structures. Not every project comes from the same barn — he sources wood wherever the best materials and character can be found, and each piece is crafted to be functional, beautiful and built to last.

When he’s not in the shop, you’ll likely find Joe working on a vintage bike, searching for unique parts, or dreaming up his next build. He loves the history, craftsmanship and simplicity of older machines, and the way they connect people and places. He’s also passionate about sustainable living — giving new life to old materials, reducing waste and building things that stand the test of time.

Today Joe lives in Central Texas with his wife, Emily. He’s proud of his two sons and loves them dearly.

Above all, Joe is happiest when he’s creating — whether it’s a dining table, a custom piece, a restored bike or a better, more self-sufficient way of living.
